Como ya es costumbre de todos los años, cerca de está fecha de dan a conocer todos los participantes por categoría de los The Game Awards, un evento tipo gala de premiación hacia los videojuegos más destacados, que desde el 2003 hasta el 2013 fueron los Spike VGA, además de que su actual formato incluyen un espacio para los e-sports.
Este evento es importante, no solo porque las votaciones son a nivel mundial por conteo en su sitio web, sino que también, varias compañías lanzan estrenos exclusivos. Este evento se realizará el 6 de diciembre, cerrando las votaciones el día anterior al evento.
